Fashionably Nerdy Spotlight : Jordan Ellis (Jordandene)

geek chic, fashionably nerdy, jordan ellis, jordandene, fandom, fashion,

Did you know Jordandene used to be know for their aprons that helped you Cosplay in the kitchen? We found the brand and it’s founder, Jordan Ellis slinging aprons, tanks with quotes, jewelry, and children’s crayon bandoliers on Etsy several years ago and my how her business has grown. We absolutely adore both the brand, Jordandene and Jordan the person. We’re thrilled to check in with her again about all things Geek Fashion. When we asked Jordan how she would describe her style she said “To borrow one of my favorite lines from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia: ‘I like to be comfy and current.'”

FN: Who is your real or fictional style icon and why?
JE: I don’t actually dress like her often, but I’m really into Rey’s style. I love the neutral colors, practical hair, and how comfortable she always looks!

FN: does your Instagram have a specific brand, theme or color-scheme? If so does that affect what you wear or how you post?
JE: I’m actually rarely in my own Instagram photos, which is just the way I like it. I don’t use any specific colors or themes, but I do try to post high quality and diverse photos!

FN: How about your favorite fantasy franchise?
JE: Before its wild final season, I would have said Game of Thrones

FN: Is there a fandom that you think people would be surprised you love?
JE: Some people know this, but I love Scott Pilgrim vs. The World!

FN: if your fashion was a cocktail what would it be?
JE: Probably a craft beer.

FN: What trends do you think defined fashion in 2019  – any breakthrough designers?
JE: I think geek fashion continues to explore “subtly nerdy” options, which I am all about.

FN: How has your style changed throughout the years?
JE: I actually have a sense of style now! I grew up really hating fashion, and over the past few years I’ve developed a much healthier relationship with it. I’ve learned that it’s a fun way to express yourself if you allow yourself to have fun and make it interesting.
