Wedding Party Gifts & Ideas

wedding party gift ideas

Though my wedding was over 6 months ago now – I still am active in a bunch of Facebook groups surrounding wedding planning and one of the most common posts I see brides asking about are what to get their bridesmaids, groomsmen, ushers, etc… and I know I thought probably way too much about this myself. So, when eventually it came time to give out my gifts I photographed them first… and guess what… I forgot all about it till now when I stumbled upon the photos and figured perhaps someone would find an idea from looking at mine… so, here you go… my gifts from my nerdy, whimsical, polka dot, fandom wedding….

My bridesmaids consisted of my Sister (Matron of Honor), my best friend (Maid of Honor), and my two baby cousins (not babies anymore – in their twenties and more like little sisters anyway). Most of these ladies are not as big of nerds as I am so I tried to find things that people universally like to put in their bags – and also put in some accessories for the day – like little glitter clutches, and glitter earrings, and even the bag so that they have something to help schlep all their stuff to the venue. My best friend and MOH is also a fashion designer (frakkinfrocks) so, I enlisted her to help personalize some of the items with embroidery of their names (also made things easier when things all match).

The Black and White Polka Dot bag is a big tote that contained all the items which were a rose gold glitter clutch, multicolored glitter earrings, black and white single use film disposable camera, chapstick, a personalized cosmetic bag, makeup remover wipes, an enamel pin, a magnetic picture frame, a personalized ring holder, a personalized note thanking them and telling them how special they are to me, a face mask, wine wipes (takes off red wine stains on your teeth for photos), hangover shot, champagne flavored jelly beans, split bottle of champagne, and a personalized handkerchief.

My brother was my Bridesman so he had a different set of gifts but similar items…

His bag was a personalized leather toiletry bag from Etsy and included the wine wipes, camera, hangover shot, champagne jelly beans, personalized handkerchief, cognac (because he’s not into champagne), and his tie and socks for the ceremony.

My nephews were my Ushers and they had a different set of gifts also…

While we were in Australia last year we got them each a real boomerang which we included with their suspenders and bowties for the ceremony, a personalized engraved compass from Etsy, some candy and a game (each got different stuff so they could share).

My husband’s gifts for his groomsmen were all unique and thoughtful most were found on eBay and were vintage collectables he had shipped to their homes so they didn’t have to travel home with them and most don’t drink, or need a personalized axe, decanter, or lighter most of the “typical” groomsmen gifts seemed inappropriate for this group.

What gifts did you get for your wedding party or have you gotten that are unique and special?
