Fashionably Nerdy Events: World of Fruit Pop-Up, Los Angeles

world of fruit

There are a lot of food themed Pop-ups but how many are healthy? How many try to expose you to things you may have never tried before? How many donate to food banks and organizations to stop hunger? World of Fruit is located in Hollywood, CA on the corner of Melrose and La Brea. This is the first pop-up I’ve seen that checks all those boxes! It’s bright, it’s colorful and it’s delicious filled with snacks as you travel from artsy fruit themed rooms filled with upbeat music and tons of photo opportunities. We were joined in this journey by some friends of Fashionably Nerdy, Heidi and Camille (Even Lulu came out to play as Children Under 4 are FREE!)

I want to take you on a little tour of the fresh and fruity museum first you enter to a welcome cone of berries and a bright citrus room.

Next is the wardrobe room filled with lights and oversized fruits in boxes where you can manipulate your body to fit amongst them.

Following the flow you enter a peach room with polka dot bananas – those that know me know my love of the dots so, I felt at home here

from dots to glowing grapes

where do grapes come from? perhaps a room filled with vines and berries?

Past the vine room you enter the pineapple disco – with giant spinning pineapple and lots of disco balls

the most iconic room in the museum is probably the watermelon room that’s got 2 watermelon swings and a watermelon see-saw. A giant ice cream truck filled with watermelon and lime juice pops (probably my favorite popsicle I’ve ever had… wish I could buy these in stores).

after the watermelon room is the dragonfruit room and also another tasty food station with acai bowls, dragonfruit bowls, and blue spirulina frozen bowls. Though the most eye catching thing is this room to me was these pink cactuses that were soft to the touch and made for some fun photos

lastly is a jungle room which also is where you get to try fruits you may have never had from around the world – some passion fruit, baby pineapples, jack fruit, and more – I am a fruit person so I’ve tried it all but I still enjoyed it!

there is a cute little gift shop which was giving away watermelon sleep face masks (i love these and used them before I got this sweet travel sized sample here)

I loved this pop-up and even got invited to a cocktail party for Nip Lips where we used their new app to find the perfect lip color based on the color of our nipples (its private!) I totally recommend!

The things I wasn’t feeling… The dragonfruit ball pit was a little too painful for my knees (though it didn’t bother Lulu one bit) and the fact that it’s leaving soon – so, If you are in Los Angeles, go now to World of Fruit before it leaves!
