Geek Chic Families: The Happy Mom Conference 2019

Happy mom conference

I recently had the honor of attending the Happy Mom Conference in Pasadena, CA. This event was organized by the blogger and Mother, El Abad of Land of Mom and included a full day of panels and a vendors marketplace. There were lots of snack sponsors giving out treats throughout the day like cauliflower chips, dried apples, water, churros, iced tea, lavender lemonade, gorgeously decorated cookies, and tasty mango cotton candy. Everyone received swag bags with goodies and the event’s main sponsor was Uppa Baby so lots of strollers were on display. The panels featured female business owners that just happen to be moms encouraging other moms to get out there and be the best version of themselves, have a healthy relationship with their amazing mom bodies, start the businesses they dream about, market their ideas, and be successful in both their careers and family. The event was mostly held in a big white tent at an outdoor mall – I wasn’t sure what to expect – however, I was so pleasantly surprised as the event seemed so geniuely focused on helping moms and empowering them. I was shocked when one speaker asked the non-mothers to raise their hands and a bunch of arms went up. The attendees all looked like moms to me (very stylish moms) with big beautiful pregnant bellies, or toting around tiny babies in wraps (I left my 2 week old at home – and was shocked and slightly jealous seeing other little ones in attendance), or just giving off that general mom vibe you would expect walking into an event entitled “Happy Mom”. Panels were: Self Care Rituals, Mamas Making Change, How To Reshape Your Career and Life alongside Motherhood, Brand Founders, and Body Positivity and Motherhood. Speakers included Ali Landry (Former Miss USA, Actor, Model) , Katrina Scott (Tone it Up), Carissa Culiner (E!), Caitlin Crosby (The Giving Keys), TyLynn Nguyen, Katie Richardson (Puj Baby), Sarah Hines (Uppa Baby), Dr. Deepika Chopra, and Agatha Achindu (Healthy Spoonfuls). I really enjoyed the day and really felt a boost of positivity to take home. Every woman I met throughout the day was so overwhelmingly nice, supportive, and happy to be there (whether they were working at the event or attending). I highly recommend attending the Happy Mom Conference the next time you can for more information visit Land of Mom.
