Daily Goodie Box Unboxing and Review

Daily Goodie Box is an amazing free sample type box, where the company send you products to try (often full size samples) in return for you opinions on the products. It is that easy. Daily Goodie Box is always free, and you will never be asked for a credit card number. They also do their best to send a box to each person who signs up on their site, though they are still subject to availability. I received my box last month, but had to wait to try many of the products because of some dental issues and a bad TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint Disorders) flair up.  It hurt to chew, so I ate soft foods for almost a month. 🙁

Check out my unboxing video below, as well as a full review of the products I received.

My Thoughts on the Products:

Herr’s Tangy BBQ Popped Chips:

I love Popped Chips, and BBQ is my absolute favorite flavor, so I naturally had really high hopes for this product. It was the very first thing I tried. I love Herr’s chips as well, so when I tried the chip I was actually really disappointed. I found the chips to be very bland, and the texture even seemed almost stale. I will likely not buy this product, as I have found other brands of BBQ popped chips to be much more flavorful.

EM+PACT – Protein & Energy Bars:

I had my bar on the way to work one morning. I can say it served it’s purpose, as it kept me full and able to make it through my morning. I don;’t really have much higher praise. Like most protein and energy bars, the taste was just “meh.” I liked that it wasn’t super dry textually, but I’m not sure if i would consider buying this product in the future.

RawRev – Raw Superfood Bars:

I ran a half marathon last weekend, and intentionally saved this product for my recovery. After running that many miles, I am always ravenous for the next few days, and I wanted to see what this bar was capable of. Sure enough, the day after the race I was at my super physical job and burning calories quickly. It had only been two hours since my lunch, and I was starving. I disliked my first bite, but enjoyed the rest of the bar immensely. I think maybe the first bite didn’t have chocolate in it? The chocolate was my favorite part, and the chips were a little soft and mixed well throughout the bar. This is probably one of the best bars of its kind that I have found, and I love that it was raw. It did the trick and kept me feeling fuller so I could finish my work day.

Gary Poppins – Simply Sea Salt:

I have to admit that I am not the hugest popcorn fan. With the exception of warm, buttery, fresh movie theater popcorn (and even then I only eat about three handfuls before I get sick of it), I don’t partake in the snack. I couldn’t try this right away because of dental work I had done, and popcorn was not allowed. I finally tried my bag as a lite snack last night, it was good. Flavor wise, it was everything I want movie popcorn to be (buttery and lightly salted) but without being super oily. This is honestly the first time I have been a fan of bagged popcorn. I also appreciate the the kernels were rather soft, and not hard as a rock. I hate that I always end up having to pick kernels out of my teeth after eating popcorn. Also, did I mention how cute the bag is? This is a great healthy snack, and at only 90 calories a bag, it’s a snack feels indulgent without actually being so.

Dream Water – Sleep Powder:

Because of the type of work I do, I frequently have to come home from work, go right to bed, wake up seven hours later, and go right back to work. These “turnarounds” are pretty nasty, and falling asleep as soon as I get home is almost never possible. I had hoped that the dream water, which is drug free, would help me sleep on one of these nights. I cannot take sleeping pills, or most medicine actually, since my husband and I are trying to get pregnant. I cannot honestly say that I noticed a difference in my sleep with the Dream Water. I had just as difficult time falling asleep as usual,  and woke up three times during the night. I would probably have to try this more than once to really be able to rate it’s effectiveness.

Natralia – Anti-itch Soothing Cream:

I waited a while to find a need for this product. I don’t really have any allergies that target my skin, and since it’s not a regular lotion I was waiting for the perfect chance to try the product as it was intended. We finally got a burst of dry, cool weather (a rarity in Florida), and I seized my chance to try the cream. I threw it in my work bag, and as my day went on my hands became dry and itchy from using paper bags. Paper is actually really harsh on the skin, so when the weather is dry it can be much worse. I used the cream on my itchy paper cuts and broken knuckles. I liked the texture of the cream, and appreciate that the scent was mild (though maybe a touch too medicinal for my liking). It is supposed to be good on sunburns, so I will keep that in mind for future use. I was sent a nice big bottle, so I am excited to get more use out of this product.

Älsa – Energy Drink Mix:

This was my favorite product in the box. The little packages are the perfect size to keep in my purse, and having a little extra energy in my busy day is never a bad thing. Also, since Älsa is loaded with B vitamins and folic acid, this is a product that actually supports my fertility, instead of working against it (though I am not sure if I could continue to drink this if we actually get pregnant). If I had a complaint, I would say that I wish it did not contain Stevia, which I am not a fan of. I still liked the product, loved all three flavors, and will happily buy this product in the future.

Overall, I really enjoyed my first box. There were products I didn’t care for, but the box also contained products I LOVED. I appreciate that so many of the items really made sense for use, based on the needs of my busy schedule. In the future, I would love to see more general heath and beauty products, or be given the chance to try out new makeups or nail polish. Since we are a fashion blog, that would certainly be my preference. I thought the box was great overall, and I really enjoyed the concept. Thanks so much for letting me try this!
